Barrick is one of over 1,000 mining & enrgy companies to switch to No BUTTs.
Barrick Gold Corporation has switched to No BuTTs Stainless Steel Eco-Pole Freestanding Bollard Ashtrays for their designated smoking zones at their Kalgoorlie Super-Pit gold mine.

Roma Perkins, Site OHS Manager for Goldfields confirmed their order for 10 Eco-Pole Portable Freestanding Ashtrays to replace the plastic 'Cease-Fire' Ashtrays recently purchased by Barrick.

"Basically, the Smokers Outpost Cease-Fire Ashtrays have been a complete disaster and a total waste of money." said Roma. "I hasten to add that I was not the one who ordered the Cease-Fires, because I would never even consider plastic ashtrays for outdoor use. Plastic melts, but Stainless Steel won't."

Smokers Outpost aka Ceasefire Ashtray. Ceasefire? Apparently not...
Why you should never buy plastic ashtrays for large capacity areas.
"The Cease-Fire Ashtrays were constantly being blown over in the wind and we were also finding them regularly clogged with papers and other rubbish which prevents them from actually being used as outdoor ashtrays, which is why we bought them in the first place."

"But far worse is that because CeaseFire / Smokers Outpost style plastic ashtrays allow papers and rubbish to be so easily placed into the ashtray, they are constantly smouldering - and even catching fire, which is completely unacceptable, and makes a total mockery out of the product's name, The Cease-Fire."

"In quite a few cases we've had staff drag what's left of a Cease-Fire Ashtray back to our site offices after it has caught fire - and I can tell you, when plastic ashtrays catch fire, there's not much left at all and the Cease-Fire is completely destroyed."

"We purchased ashtrays to prevent cigarette butt litter and eliminate the associated risk of fires, but when it's the ashtray catching fire, clearly that is an intolerable situation we simply could not allow to continue."

"We're now in the process of replacing all of the Smokers Cease-Fire Ashtrays with No BuTTs Eco-Pole Portable Freestanding Ashtrays, which is what we should have ordered in the first place, and would have if we'd only known about them."

"We're hearing stories like this all the time from our clients." said No BuTTs Managing Director, Jack Jacobson. "And you should see some of the photos we've received."

"There are clearly inherent design flaws in any ashtray designed for outside use, that so easily blows around in the wind, allows paper waste to be inserted - and as a direct result either smoulders, or even worse, bursts into flames."

"That's why all No BuTTs Outdoor Ashtrays are 100% Stainless Steel, have small butts-only insertion holes which prevent paper waste insertion, and with the addition of our Eco-Pole Doughnut Weight Bag can be safely and securely placed anywhere they're needed without the danger of the units being blown over or igniting." said Jack.

Over 1,000 mining, energy and construction based businesses and organisations around the planet now use No BuTTs Eco-Pole Stainless Steel Portable Freestanding Bollard Ashtrays to protect their locations from cigarette butt litter.
